Madhukar Hiralal Kania

Madhukar Hiralal Kania (M. H. Kania) (born November 18, 1927, Bombay) was the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India from 13-December-1991 until his retirement on 17-November-1992.He was born in Gujarati family.His father was H. J. Kania , the first Chief Justice of India.

He began his legal career in 1964, and was appointed as a Judge of Bombay High Court in November-1971. In June-1986 he was appointed as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.

In May 1987, he was appointed as Judge of the Supreme Court of India, and became Chief Justice of India in December-1991.
